Zizo Tshingana

In 2025, when songo.info provided Zizo with an opportunity to become an accredited Bicycle Technician at TorqZone Academy in Pretoria, we had little idea how quickly this bright and confident young man would be snatched up by the Stellenbosch bike industry. The 22-year-old arrived at songo.info in 2013 and quickly embodied the energy and spirit of our programme. He is a BMXer and mountain biker with silky skills and a hard-working attitude and is already a two-time Absa Cape Epic finisher. He has spent many hours giving back to our programme and is a popular figure in our community.

Today Zizo is working at the Blaauwklippen Bike Park on the historic wine farm outside Stellenbosch, as a bike guide and mechanic, managing their bike rental fleet and is a barista at the popular pump track cafe.

Ayabonga Zenya

Ayabonga is a proud product of the full songo.info development pathway. He joined the programme in 2016 at the age of 15, fully embracing the educational and cycling opportunities available. After completing his Matric in 2018, he pursued his passion for Agriculture at Nelson Mandela University. Following his graduation in 2024, Ayabonga returned to Kayamandi to give back to the songo.info community that shaped him. He dedicated his time to tutoring, mentoring younger riders, and assisting with transporting and supporting kids at events. In August 2025, as the songo.info management team completed the Laureus Sport for Good Incubation Hub modules, Ayabonga seized on a 12-month paid internship at Laureus, where he is developing office and event management skills.

We are excited to see how he puts these skills to use in his career.

Asisipho Ncapha

Asisipho is a passionate junior sports coach and dedicated youth mentor with a strong commitment to empowering young women through sport. A proud songo.info alumna, Asisipho’s journey has come full circle as she now serves as an assistant coach at songo.info, focusing on the skills development of young girls in the programme. ‘Sisi’ joined us in 2017 in grade 10 and matriculated in 2020, completing a 12-month coaching course at ETA College the following year. She joined the Fairtree Academy in 2022, returning to songo.info 2025 to volunteer on our girls’ programme.

She is known for her empathy, discipline and ability to connect with people of all ages, Asisipho is committed to creating a safe, motivating and uplifting space to learn bicycle craft, especially for young girls discovering their potential through sport.
