Montana High School once again hosted the third leg of The Spur Schools MTB League on Saturday, 24 August. We were lucky with the most beautiful weather as it’s usually windy on that particular track. Our kids really enjoy racing there as the track suits them a bit better, compared to Bloemendal, so they get even more excited to go and race there. They absolutely had a blast and even secured a few podiums.

We had 11 kids competing at the event, 3 girls and 8 boys from the Sprogs to the Youth categories. All the kids were so excited and some wanted to win. It’s always special to see them wanting more from their racing!

All of them raced so well and kept us busy running around trying so hard to cheer them on. Amila finished 3rd in the sub-junior boys, Milani 3rd in the sub-junior girls, while Likho finished 7th and Zizo 13th in youth boys. All four of them showed such a big improvement from the last event at Bloemendal. Now Kayamandi Primary School is sitting in 7th position as a result; while the High School is in 16th going to the last round, of the Western Province series, in Stellenbosch on the 14th of September.

Thanks to all our sponsors and supporters for making it possible for our kids to attend these races. And of course, a big thanks to Meurant Botha and his team for the huge support!

The kids are now busy getting ready for the last round in their home ground, Stellenbosch. They will be even more highly motivated to perform on home turf. So, come watch them race at Paul Roos Gymnasium from 08h00 on Saturday, 14 September.
