Mathieu van der Poel is in the process of accumulating an extraordinary list of cycling achievements across three disciplines. It’s not a given that high performance in one of the three would translate into another, and yet that’s what he’s done.
Most recently, he won a stage of the Tour de France en route to winning the yellow jersey, and then holding it for six days.
He already has four cyclo-cross World Championship titles to his name, has won the Dutch National Road Championship, and is also a multiple winner at UCI World Cup XCC events.
His next big challenge is the MTB at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
