Attending the last BMX Provincial race was a truly enriching experience, especially witnessing the interactions and support among the songo.info children, writes Nicole Murphy. It was something very special to see the older kids encouraging and guiding the younger ones during the races. This camaraderie and mentorship were heartwarming and inspiring.
Sports, I believe, provides an invaluable platform for these children to experience the highs and lows of life. From a young age, the tots learn important life lessons: not to give up, to be genuinely happy for a friend on the podium even if they didn’t win a medal themselves. They understand the importance of hard work, being prepared, and working together as a team to achieve their goals.
One of the most touching aspects was observing Bradley Stow’s guidance and mentoring of these kids. His warmth and patience are evident in every interaction, and his influence is clearly making a positive impact on their lives.
As an outsider, I cherish these moments as small treasures that I might not otherwise get to witness. They are filled with hidden messages of love, community, sacrifice, and commitment. These experiences have left a lasting impression on me.
Thank you, Songo, for the memories and for showcasing the true essence of sportsmanship and community.
