Eliminator Series, Event 2, Contermanskloof: Sunday, 28th May 2017

01 Jun 2017

This past sunday the 2nd event in the Eliminator series was held at Contermanskloof. Eliminator is a short course heat racing format of mountain biking whereby 4 riders race at a time across a course roughly 800m in length with the top 2 finishers advancing to the next round and the bottom 2 being eliminated from the event. There are various age divisions from u/10 right up to 40+ and we had 11 riders racing across the divisions.

While riders race individually they also race to earn points in the schools competition. Thank you to the One Movement organisers for allowing our riders to compete as a school group - out of 21 schools represented during the Western Cape leg of the series we are so proud of our riders coming in a respectable 4th!

Our kids absolutely love the One Movement Eliminator Series and although they are a little disadvantaged riding their BMX bikes, they always give their all and race their hearts out. HUGE congrats to Milani for racing to 3rd in the overall series U12 Girls division also congrats to Azu for winning the  Open Men division.

Once again, thanks again to all who make this fantastic event possible, organisers One Movement, marshals and sponsors etc. We look forward to taking part in the series again next year.
