Where to from here?
April 4th, 2008 by Ruth
Due to the fact that the songo.info team had to retire from the Cape Epic, there have been many questions asked about the bmx charity aspect-is it still going? will there still be a bmx track? where to from here?
Songo.info is a Christoph Sauser iniative which is much larger than the Cape Epic race itself - the project still continues, regardless of the fact that the team was unable to finish. We receieved awesome news from the Pedal Power Association (PPA), who are very keen to get involved this project as a long term partner. They have bought 300 km!! Which is great news! More detail about that will go up on the site in the next few days.
Everything is now set for earth to be moved and the bmx track to go up-with the awesome donation from the PPA, we are set to get things started. We are still working with the municipality to get clearance for the land-this is Africa, so things take a little longer when working with the local municipalities!!
As for the songo.info website…it is very much going to be alive and updated! We are going to be putting up progress photos and reports of the bmx track, as it is being built, so that you can follow its progress. Along side this, there is going to be updates, photos and race reports from Christophs World Cup Season, which I can tell you know will be something you wont want to miss. Christoph wants to carry on with songo.info. There are big plans for the Cape Epic next year. Talk of it becoming an induvidual race is on everyones lips. So watch this space - Susi, Songo and Specialized at the Cape Epic 2009 is going to be BIG. So keep checking the website for the updates.
As far as donations to the project go, please keep spreading the word about the songo.info bmx project. The more donations we get in, the more we can give to the kids of kayamandi.
