As far as the BMX track goes, Erica Green, Songo and I attended a meeting with the local municipality of Stellenbosch. We need to get clearance from the municipality in order to use the piece of land we have earmarked for the bmx track.

There are regulations one needs to be aware of when trying to use municipal land, and many processes which need to be followed, which all take time. So although we now have the money to start moving earth and putting in structures, we have to wait for the processes. In general, the meeting was extremely positive, the members of the Stellenbosch Municipality were very excited and seemed to want to help speed up the process so we can start to build the track. It will take about 6 weeks or so to get clearance to use the land we want to use. The reason being is that, firstly, the rest of the council has to approve the project and then secondly, the public needs to be informed of what we are going to be doing with that land-the public are given 21 days to respond. Only then, can we enter into a contract with the municipality to get the land!!!

As far as Christoph Sauser goes-over the weekend he did Swisspower Cup in Basel…he mentioned something about being in a crash at the beginning of the race. Ended up 4th-for more of the race details visit his website. There is a really good video clip to watch-but its all in swiss-german or german… but the footage is worth watching: go to sf.tv/sfsport.

Christoph starts his worldcup season soon, first race is in Belgium, Germany and then Madrid, after that there is a small break. songo.info will follow his progress!
