Almost 1 month since the Absa Cape Epic
It's been a month since the finish of the 2012 Absa Cape Epic and reflecting back on this year's Epic we are so proud of all the riders and support crew that assisted us with making the Cape Epic a great success. This year we took home 2 of the Absa Cape Epic jerseys, the overall Mens Winner's by Christoph Sauser and Burry Stander, and also the Best Development Team by Sipho Mandolo and Azukile Simayile. In addition we had an overwhelming response to songo.info from supporters and fans right across the world! We couldn't have asked for more!

Wrap up of the 2012 Absa Cape Epic
The 2012 Absa Cape Epic was undoubtably one of the most grueling Epic's. It was not only the challenges that Dr Evil conjured up for the riders but the collaboration with Mother Nature who sent hectic weather conditions that made it so tough. Amidst absurd weather conditions and trecherous terrain the songo riders thrived and excelled, coming out on top to claim overall victory in the Cape Epic.

Stage 5 of the Absa Cape Epic
The Absa Cape Epic is known for it's "epic" days but I don't think any of the riders had any idea that "Dr Evil" and "The WeatherMan" were in cohoots today and conjuring up the most brutal day for the riders. There is not one rider that didn't have to dig deep and find deep seated courage to brave the elements and get through the course.

For the greater part of the field today was a really tough day battling all sorts of challenges from seriously sandy tracks to rocky descent and almost gale force winds whipping up serious dust storms.

It was a grueling start to the 2012 Absa Cape Epic as Stage 1 took riders straight up high into the mountains on some technical climbs followed by fast descents. It was a good day for the songo teams as they proudly brought home outstanding results, lead by Christoph and Burry winning the first stage of the Cape Epic.
